The Vision
GM Chess was built with a single goal in mind: to provide a blazingly fast, zero-lag environment for chess purists, blitz typers, and Grandmasters. In an era of bloated web applications, we are bringing back the raw, unfiltered aesthetic of the late 90s web, combined with cutting-edge 2026 WASM technology.
Under the Hood
Powered by Stockfish 10 compiled to WebAssembly, GM Chess runs entirely locally in your browser. This means zero latency, no server-side bottlenecks, and absolute privacy. Our algebraic typing interface was strictly designed to handle FIDE notation flawlessly, ensuring competitive players can practice their blindfold and typing speed without interruption.

We believe in the open web. Our core board mechanics and UI architecture are available for review on our GitHub repository. Contributions, bug reports, and forks are always welcome.
